Yoga + Meditation Teacher. Gentle Spirit. Kind Soul. Doula.Living a M.A.G.I.C.A.L life.
Hello There!
Years ago, I started having panic attacks due to my mother having a massive stroke. During this time I was drawn to yoga. Yoga helped me find my breath, literally.
I am Christina Jovonn, a yoga and meditation teacher, doula, and full-time caregiver of my mother, a stroke survivor.
In 2019, I received my 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher certification, this is where it all came together. I wanted to use my experience as an educator and social worker combined with my passion of mindfulness to support families. Over the following years I completed many trainings including meditation teacher training, prenatal/postnatal yoga teacher training and I became a Certified Full Spectrum Doula.
My past work experiences has truly inspired the work that I do today.
As a former Early Childhood educator, I have worked with families of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and working with children with social emotional concerns, sensory needs and behavioral issues. When I was teaching I would incorporate yoga/ mindfulness practices into our daily routine. By doing this I noticed that my students were less impulsive, they were able to relax and they enjoyed mindfulness.
My time working in educational social work gave me working knowledge of family dynamics and where families truly needed support. I have encountered many of overwhelmed parents and overly stimulated or bored children. With my work as a doula, I love supporting families in mindful ways. Sharing practices that will last them a lifetime.
It takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to support that child’s parent. -Ann Douglas
